About the Object

Orion is the undisputed master of the winter sky!

Observation Notes

I took the peace of the holiday season to stack a large number of DSLR frames (about 600) of the region between the Orion belt and the M42 complex. Data were collected during a number of trips to southern Arizona with my mobile rig - the famous Samyang 135mm + a Canon EOS Ra. Sky conditions were quire varying during these trips, so I used it also as an exercise ground to play with PixInsights new MARS background modeling - it worked quite well and is a very nice tool to cope with nebulosity covered regions like here in Orion.

Data were taken on 2023 March 28, 29 and April 1st as well as 2024 April 11,12,13,14,15.
