About the Object

NGC5033 is a Seyfert galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici, at a distance of some 40 or 50  million light years. It is a fairly thankful target as it is quite extended and fairly bright. It has a very interesting morphology with a nice complex inner part and well developed spiral arms in the outskirts which are also considerably warped.
