NGC4395 in HaLRGB – a low surface brightness disk galaxy in Canes Venatici

Observation Notes

NGC 4395 is a low surface brightness galaxy in Canes Venatici and like many other galaxies in the NGC was discovered by William Herschel.  In its center, it hosts one of the lowest mass super massive black holes known. It actually is of considerable (apparent) size, though it's low brightness makes it not an easy object to image. Nevertheless, it is a bit surprising that on astrobin it is not more frequently targeted. It has a number of bright Hii regions, which makes it also an interesting target for HaLRGB.

Data were taken on May 14, 15, 18, 24, 25 of 2022, on February 26 and 28, and on March 1st of 2023.
