NGC3631 a.k.a. Arp27: a grand design Sc spiral galaxy
About the Object
NGC 3631 is a beautiful grand design spiral galaxy of type Sc. It is located in the constellation of Ursa Major at a distance of some 35 million light years. It is featured in Chip Arp's famous catalogue as Arp 27 in the category galaxies with one "heavy" arm. NGC4631 is the brightest member of the NGC 3631- galaxy group (LGG 241).
