About the Object

IC239 is a low surface brightness galaxy that is not very often shown on astrobin. Indeed, it is fairly faint and also located behind some comparably bright stars, which makes it challenging to image - working out the faint galaxy structure but not bloating the halos of the star too much. But when done, it is a pretty extended object with a very nice spiral structure and a central bar, and also the bright stars add to the overall setting.

Observation Notes
