Holmberg 561, the NGC 5322 group and friends in Ursa Major
About the Object
The gravitatively bound galaxy pair Holmberg 561 consisting of the lenticular SBA0 galaxy NGC 5389 and the lenticular SB0 galaxy NGC 5379 and its environ belongs to the rarely imaged area on astrobin. In fact, the only higher resolved image I found on AB was by our undisputed master of rare objects, @Gary Imm. The Holmberg 561 pair is actually quite interesting as both galaxies are lenticulars, and both (but in particular NGC 5379) exhibit considerable absorption in their central regions.
Observation Notes
Data were taken on 2025 April 25,26, and 27.
