Dust and Ha enshrouded Cocoon Nebula (IC5146)
About the Object
The Cocoon nebula IC5146 is an emission/reflection nebula in the constellation of Cygnus. Sitting in the "busy" Cygnus region, it is also surrounded by quite a bit of (though faint) Ha emission and Galactic cirrus.
Observation Notes
In this image I tried to bring together these various aspects by combining wider field LRGB and Ha (with a full format camera ü+ reducer) with older data I had on the object itself using a 4/3" camera at native focal length of the Edge 11. Bringing together these different data was a bit cumbersome, but at the end the result seems to pay off.
data were taken on 2023 August 9,10, 11 (294mm) and on 2024 September 30, Ocotober 4, 5, 6, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, respectively
