About the Object

NGC1499, the California nebula, is a HII region in Perseus discovered by Edward Barnard in 1885. It extends for more than 2.5° on the sky and is a frequently targeted object  for wider field setups.

Observation Notes

I find a color palette based on HOO and then the  Sii signal gilded on to be the most appealing for these kind of objects.

Data were taken on 2025 January 19,20, and 21 as well as on February 3 and 4
