About the Object

NGC1961 is a barred spiral in a rather loose group of galaxies. Owing to its strong distortions, Chip Arp added it as #184 to his catalog, but interestingly there has not been detected any companion nor any other feature that could be the culprit of the distortions. NGC1961 is member of the LGG 132 group.
