M57 – the Ring Nebula in HaO3O3LRGB
About the Object
The Ring Nebula M57 is a summer classic and a poster child of a planetary nebula. While looking nice and smooth in RGB, it exhibits considerable fine structure when on dives in with narrow band data. Deeper exposures also exhibit the faint outer layers. I tried to get both aspects in one image by combining LRGB with narrow band Halpha and Oiii. "Neighboring" IC1296 rounds off a nice cosmic setting.
