The Pleiades – M45 and its dusty environment
Observation Notes
While experimenting with my mobile rig, I collected a decent number of M45 frames, which I then could combine with some earlier data resulting in a reasonably deep image of this very well known but nevertheless quite fascinating "classic". Most fascinating is the very complex multi-scale structures caused by the interaction of the winds of the young stars with the dust environment where the Pleiades are currently located in. Every level of stretch reveals interestingly new structures but making the ones from before somewhat less pronounced. So at some point one needs to decide ...
