NGC3628 – the Hamburger Galaxy
Observation Notes
In order to work out the contrast between the blueish outskirts and the yellowish inner part, blended via a blue color mask two images, one with the standard SPCC calibration and, for the outskirts, one with an Sa white balance calibration.
Parts of the tidal tail can be seen - not easy from my location as the galaxy mostly stays in the suburbian fog - may need to follow-up on it with more Lum data at a later point.
Data were taken on 2026 April 14, 17, 20, 21, and 24
