NGC3938 in Ursa Major

About the Object

Galaxy season in full swing, and NGC3938 is another beauty which is not that often featured on astrobin. A very worth target for larger focal length scopes and reminds me a bit of the pinwheel galaxy M101, also thanks to the many Ha regions. Five supernovae have been identified in NGC3938 since the 1960s.

As a nice side feature, there seems to be a huge number of galaxies in the background.

Observation Notes

data were taken on 2023 April 23, 24, 25, 27, and 30 as well as, for Ha , on May 7 and 8.
