Reflection nebula vdB 140 and environment
About the Object
van den Bergh 140 is a blue reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The nebula is illuminated by HD 203025 (V421 Cephei), a binary of blue giants of spectral tye B2 III. Adjacent to it is a large molecular cloud complex around HD 203338. Together with a number of relatively bright colorful stars, the area around vdB140 represents a quite colorful region with blue, red and yellow tone, reminiscent maybe of the rho Ophi complex. Nevertheless, the number of images in astrobin is relatively small.
Observation Notes
The image is a 1×2 panel Mosaic. Data were taken on 2025 September 19, 20, 23, and 24, as well as on 2025 September 24, 27, 28, 30, and October 1, respectively.
